Many people were dissatisfied with the presidential election results, yet we know an equal number woke up relieved with the outcome.
That’s the reality of the country: it's completely divided.
The television pundits and political consultants will hit the airways beginning today in an effort to explain, interrupt, excuse, and blame the outcome on one thing or another. They will do what they do best: talk.
The country will move on from one crisis to another; one headline after the next; each conversation will be followed by another; and plenty of entertainment in-between to keep minds occupied.
John Lennon asked after the long slog of the 1970s, “Are you alright? Did you make it?”
That’s a question many will ask during the next four years.
The answers will certainly vary.
